Michael solves complex employment problems. Michael Winterstein is a founding partner of Colson Winterstein LLP. Michael was previously a partner in the Colson Group at the firm formerly known as Teplitsky, Colson LLP.

Michael’s practice encompasses a wide range of commercial and complex employment litigation matters but he is especially sought after for challenging or sensitive executive employment matters. Michael acts for employees across a variety of industries, with a focus on executives and employees in the financial services sector.

Michael represents clients in wrongful dismissals, constructive dismissals, human rights complaints, pension issues, allegations of employee fraud, theft of confidential and proprietary information, breach of fiduciary duties, restrictive covenants and the interpretation of share and equity plans.

With his deep experience in employee-side matters, Michael is also highly sought after by employers looking to manage their employee-related litigation and for general employment advice. Michael assists employers, such as private equity funds, to spot and solve employment issues and limit liability.

Outside the office, Michael is a dedicated father of two young sons. He is an active volunteer at school and avid weekend golfer. Access to justice is important to Michael, and he provides pro bono employment advice to patients living with cancer through the Wellspring “Money Matters Program”.
